Join us on Sunday, October 20th, after the 1:30 PM Mass at the Franciscan Community Center (FCC) for a screening of the documentary film “The Letter: A Message for Our Earth.” This film, featuring Pope Francis, tells the story of a journey to Rome of frontline leaders from around the globe to discuss the encyclical letter Laudato Si’ with Pope Francis and the impact of climate change on their communities. Their exclusive dialogue with the Pope offers insight into the personal history of Pope Francis and provides a segment on each of the communities of the frontline leaders: an indigenous man from Brazil, a young girl from India, a young man from Senegal, and a couple from Hawaii. They all come together in a meeting with Pope Francis. (Film running time 1 hour, 20 minutes)
The screening will be followed by a 30-minute discussion period, and refreshments will be served.
