Father Wesbee was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, into a religious family. He received his first communion during grammar school, followed by confirmation toward the end of high school. In 2008, he was adopted by an American family, although he didn’t reside in the US until 2011.
After completing high school, Father Wesbee traveled to the Dominican Republic to study Spanish. Once his studies there were finished, he moved to live with his adoptive family in Tampa, Florida. In February 2012, the family relocated to Woodlawn in the Bronx, New York City. This move brought him to the door of the archdiocese, where he discerned his calling. In January 2013, he entered the Cathedral Seminary House of Formation as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of New York.
Father Wesbee continued through his college seminary, graduating from St. John’s University in May 2017. Following graduation, he was invited to pursue theological studies at Theological College and Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., starting in September 2017. Father was ordained as a deacon for the Archdiocese of New York in June 2020 at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls, NY. A year later, on May 29th, 2021, he became a priest of Jesus Christ at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
